In that sense it is of value thank you. In the spirit of disseminating information about history and our chosen muses this is of value. Though there may be some inaccuracies on the whole it is valuable. I would take in stride any misinformation presented or mistakes made and as you go change or fix accordingly, even the very best have made them as the old saying goes " even monkeys fall out of trees" Thank you very much for the write up and sharing it with others.
Thank You,
James Blake James Blakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02442081946657107964noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8743733062223446224.post-8161062050839832042014-11-22T08:15:44.765-05:002014-11-22T08:15:44.765-05:00I haven't seen the original of the image in fi...I haven't seen the original of the image in fig. 5, but from your comment that it is "probably plain white beads," sounds like you haven't either. I understand your concern about the tintype but this image came from a Seneca family in western New York and the younger woman was said to be a relative. The zig-zag white designs on her skirt are not quills or moosehair, it is probably plain white beads. A better higher quality image would help you better interpret these images - or even better yet, traveling a little and seeing them up close. It helps tremendously. The shirt is actually a white shirt - the artist gave it some shadow cast which might be misinterpreted as pink, but it is not.
